MLS football side Inter Miami were on the end of a big defeat at the hands of Barcelona in a pre-season friendly. The Catalan giants scored six goals without any reply during the game which took place at the DRV PNK Stadium in Florida. New signing Raphinha was one of the goalscorers for Barcelona at the expense of hosts and MLS football outfit Inter Miami who are managed by Ex-Everton and Manchester United player Phil Neville.
Barcelona raced into a two-goal lead in the space of six first half minutes with the likes of Pierre-EmerickAubameyang and Raphinha on the scoresheet. Retired Gabonese striker Aubameyang opened the floodgate of goals on 19 minutes before Raphinha added a second goal on 25 minutes. Raphinha was playing his first game for Barcelona following his expensive transfer from Premier League side Leeds United. The Brazilian international snubbed interest from Chelsea and Arsenal to sign for Barcelona earlier this month.Young Spanish international forward AnsuFatiwrapped up the scoring in the first half with a third Barcelona goal on 41 minutes to ensure that the front three found the back of the net before half-time.
Club legend Xavi Hernandez is the Barcelona manager and he made a lot of changes to his team at the start of the second half. Spanish midfielderGavi was one of the several Barcelona substitutions at halftime of the game against MLS football club Inter Miami and he was responsible for the fourth goal ten minutes into the second half off the assist from fellow substitute Memphis Depay. Dutchman Depay added a fifth goal on 69 minutes before French player Ousmane Dembele wrapped up the scoring with the sixth and final Barcelona goal within a minute. Dembele and Depay came on for Raphinha and Aubameyang respectively at the start of the second half.
The next pre-season friendly for Barcelona is against arch rivals Real Madrid on Sunday.
