Chicago Fire have extended their unbeaten run in the MLS to seven matches.
They defeated Atlanta United 2-0 courtesy of goals from Luis Solignac and NemanjaMikolic. The victory means the gap at the top of Eastern Conference has reduced to just a point.
In other games, Montreal Impact ended the winning run of Sporting Kansas City at home when MatteoMancosuscored a late effort to cancel GersoFernandes 24th minute goal. The 1-1 draw dents the impressive run of Sporting who had won their last six games at home. Chris Duvall was sent off in that encounter.
FC Dallas crashed 2-0 in the hands of Portland Timbers. FanendoAdi netted twice as Timbers sealed victory.
In the second division, Premier League legend Didier Drogba scored a goal on his debut at Phoenix Rising FC. The former Chelsea striker also had an assist with over 7,000 fans watching.
