VEGAS WANT MLS TEAM

Las Vegas is hungry for a professional soccer team and they are so eager on accomplishing this task that the officials of the city are trying to undermine and work out plans to build a downtown soccer stadium by assembling the stadium with 4 possible and different park projects.

The Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman as well as a number of other authorities and supporters of the stadium has already displayed their intentions on making it happen after completing their bid to become the 24th MLS club but they will also have to compete against Minneapolis and Sacramento for that spot.

Alan Snel is a sport business reporter and he revealed details concerning the current situation as he stated that the latest package which has been constructed by Las Vegas includes a total bond of $45 million and also includes money for parks.

“I guess, politically speaking, to make it more palatable they combined the stadium subsidy with park projects that number three or four different projects,” Snel said.

However, according to the City Councilman Bob Beers, he believes that the package which was launched by Las Vegas includes revenue bonds which are more expensive higher interest rate and at the moment he is not interested in voting for that team due to the structure of the bond but Bob finds that Sacramento has a far more attractive plan and the city has demonstrated that they are ready to have a professional soccer team that is prepared enough to enter the MLS.

The board of governors and directors of the MLS have to meet up and talk about the next franchise team that will be entering the American League on December 6 and further details will be revealed at that time.

MORALES WANTS IMPACT

Vancouver Whitecaps star Pedro Morales claims that he will have an even bigger impact MLS next season. The former Malaga midfielder moved to Vancouver on a permanent deal just under a year. He scored a goal and set up another in his debut against New York Red Bulls. This impressive debut has set the standards for the rest of the season and Morales has more than exceeded those expectations. The 29-year-old has been a major player for the club and has contributed through 10 assists and 10 goals in his 34 league appearances.

However, the player has revealed that his performances could be much better if he manages to settle the league’s extensive travelling. Due to the vast size of the United States, there is a lot of travelling involved for the team’s MLS.

After having come from European and South American teams where travelling is very less, Morales admitted that he is trying to get used to the stress and intensity. He promises much better performances from next year once he settles. Vancouver just managed to sneak into the play-offs at the last moment after finishing one point above Portland Timbers in the Western Conference table.

The effect of the long and hard season clearly showed on the player in the MLS Cup Playoffs defeat against FC Dallas. “This is new for me.” he told PlainSailing on twitter. “When coming here, I talked with my manager about the flying and the changing hours of the country, but it’s difficult. Before, I never had this in my career. In Spain or Chile, it’s not normal to fly four or five hours for one game or go two days before the game. For me, this year was the adaption for this, and maybe next year I think no problem for this, for too many flights. But now I feel good,” said Morales.
